Kalamazoo Kings News Release
KINGS TAKE 1 OF 2 - The Kalamazoo Kings split a double header with the Traverse City Beach Bums Thursday. The Kings took Game 1 12-3 on the strength of an 8 run bottom of the fifth. Three Kings homered in the inning; Brendan Murphy and Simon Williams went back to back and Brandon Anderson added a two run shot.
In Game Two, Brandon Parillo relieved a great outing by starter Jeff Long and gave up two earned runs in a tied game to take the loss. The Kings were able to load the bases in the bottom of the ninth, but a sharp line drive by Jorge Araiza was hit right at the first baseman to end the game.
