
Three Oil Kings to Attend NHL Training Camps

Edmonton, AB - The Edmonton Oil Kings are excited to announce that Vojtech Port (Anaheim Ducks), Marc Lajoie (Colorado Avalanche) and Nathan Pilling (Calgary Flames) will all be attending NHL training camps beginning this week.
Port, 18, was selected in the sixth round, 161st overall, by the Anaheim Ducks this past June at the 2023 NHL Draft.
The Jilhlava, Czechia product is coming off his first season in the WHL where he suited up in 48 games and a recorded 17 points (4G, 13A) and 16 penalty minutes.
The 6-foot-2, 177-pound defender was acquired by the Oil Kings in October of last season from the Red Deer Rebels. This past summer, he attended Team Czechia's World Junior summer development camp.
Lajoie, 20, is heading to the Colorado Avalanche's training camp after also taking part in their summer development camp earlier this year as a free agent invite.
The St. Albert, Alberta product is entering his fifth season in the WHL and first as an Oil King after being acquired by the Club this past spring in trade with the Tri-City Americans.
In his WHL career, the 6-foot-6, 223-pound rearguard has skated in 215 regular season games, tallying 93 points (26G, 67A) and 234 penalty minutes. In addition, he has dressed in nine WHL post-season games, recording one goal.
Pilling, 19, will be taking part in the Calgary Flames training camp after also taking part in their summer development camp earlier this year as a free agent invite.
The Calgary, AB product is entering his third season in the WHL and his first full season with the Oil Kings after being acquired last December from the Moose Jaw Warriors.
The 6-foot-3, 205-pound winger was limited to just 35 games last season after suffering a season-ending injury on January 10 but was still able to put 13 points (10G, 3A) and 24 penalty minutes.
