Northwest Arkansas Naturals News Release

Springdale, AR - The Kansas City Royals announced a trio of transactions Thursday afternoon affecting the Northwest Arkansas Naturals Roster before the team continues a four-game series with Tulsa at Arvest Ballpark.

The Naturals will add OF Brian Fletcher from the Disabled List, and LHP Danny Duffy will be moved to AAA-Omaha to continue his Major League Rehab. The Organization has also come to terms on the release of OF Carlo Testa.

Fletchers returns after missing nearly two months of action. The Naturals number-three hitter in the season's first five games has not played since April 8th after suffering a wrist injury. He was 2 for his first 19 at-bats and hit a two-run homerun off Texas League Standout RHP Carlos Pimentel (AA-Frisco; 6-2, 3.29 ERA) in his last game. Fletcher joined the Naturals mid-season last year and hit .272 with 15 homeruns and 59 RBI between two levels of the Royals system in Northwest Arkansas and Wilmington. The previous year in Kane County the slugger belted 14 homeruns and 31 doubles in 90 games with Kane County in the Midwest League.

Royals LHP Danny Duffy returned to Naturals uniform to begin his Major League Rehab from Tommy John Surgery on his left elbow last year. The hard-throwing left-hander threw 63, 75, and 71 pitches in his three outings. He gave up 12 hits, struck out 15 and only walked four in a combined 10 ⅔ innings going 0-2 with a 4.22 ERA.

Carlo Testa was selected by the Royals in the 18th Round of the 2008 First-Year Player Draft in 2008. In his first four professional seasons the outfielder hit .291. He debuted for the Naturals in 113 games last year hitting 15 homeruns. He spent the first part of 2013 in extended Spring Training and played 13 games for the Naturals going 6-for-38 (.158) with a solo homerun.
