Three more Rider games on TV
Published on May 19, 2004 under Canadian Football League (CFL)
Saskatchewan Roughriders News Release
The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced today three of its four originally non-televised games this season have been picked up by Rogers Sportsnet, enabling Rider fans across the country to watch all but one Saskatchewan game on television.
Saskatchewan's home opener on June 20 versus Calgary at Taylor Field will be broadcast on Sportsnet West at 2 pm. The back half of a home-and-home set against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on September 12 will also now be shown on the Sportsnet West Regional telecast and the Riders home game versus the Ottawa Renegades on September 26 will be carried nationally on Sportsnet.
Roughrider director of marketing Trent Fraser said the announcement is hugely positive for the football club.
"We are the number one ratings driver in the CFL and this allows our fans to view Canada's team on a consistent basis," said Fraser. "We are pleased the CFL and Rogers Sportsnet were able to partner together to provide these telecasts."
Rogers Sportsnet will also be showing two other CFL non-Rider games.
The Sportsnet CFL schedule features:
· Calgary @ Saskatchewan, Sunday, June 20 at 2 p.m. on Sportsnet West
