Rogers Sportsnet scores with five Canadian Football League games

Toronto, On – Rogers Sportsnet announced today that it has scored a High Five with the Canadian Football League. An additional five games, including three Saskatchewan Roughrider match-ups, will be added to the CFL broadcast schedule for the 2004 season.

Sportsnet, Canada's 24-hour regional sports network, will broadcast the five CFL games this summer, opening with a Sportsnet West regional telecast of the Saskatchewan Roughriders against the Calgary Stampeders, Sunday, June 20th at 2 p.m. (MT)/12 noon (ET) at Taylor Field in Regina.

"It's great to add the Canadian Football League to our busy summer lineup," says Doug Beeforth, President of Rogers Sportsnet. "It's the first time we have had the CFL and we're excited to be offering sports fans across the country this unique brand of hard hitting Canadian football action as a new feature on our network."

"This announcement represents a key milestone for the League. Not only does it bring a third national network to the CFL's broadcast roster, but it allows us to provide Canadians with more CFL coverage then ever before in the League's history," said Tom Wright, CFL Commissioner. "The decision comes in direct response to our fans request for more CFL coverage and to our continued commitment to deliver Canada's game to the homes of football enthusiasts across the nation."

Rogers Sportsnet consists of four channels, Sportsnet East (Quebec and the Maritime provinces), Sportsnet Ontario, Sportsnet West (Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, Nunavut, and the Northwest Territories), and Sportsnet Pacific (British Columbia and Yukon).

o Ottawa @ Toronto, Wednesday, July 21 at 7:30 p.m. (ET)/4:30 p.m. (PT) on Rogers Sportsnet

o Saskatchewan @ Winnipeg, Sunday, September 12 @ 12 noon (MT)/10 a.m. (ET) on Sportsnet West

o Ottawa @ Saskatchewan, Sunday, Sept. 26 @ 5 p.m. (ET)/2 p.m. (PT) on Rogers Sportsnet

o And Calgary @ Toronto, Wednesday, Sept. 29 @ 7 p.m. (ET)/4 p.m. (PT) on Rogers Sportsnet
