(Trenton, NJ) - Kevin Mahoney, Abraham Almonte and Cody Johnson each hit two-run home runs to propel the Trenton Thunder past the Portland Sea Dogs, 7-4, Sunday afternoon in front of 4,763 fans at Waterfront Park. Trenton (18-16) takes the series 3 games to 1 and moves two games above the .500 mark for the first time all season.

Mahoney put Trenton on the board with his fourth home run of the season, a two-run shot against Sea Dogs' starter Chris Balcom-Miller (2-3) in the second inning. Melky Mesa extended the lead to 3-1 in the third with an infield RBI hit against Balcom-Miller.

The Thunder pulled away in the sixth against reliever Charle Rosario. Addison Maruszak worked a leadoff walk and Almonte followed with a shot off the right-field foul pole for his fourth long ball of the season. Corban Joseph then walked and two batters later Johnson clobbered his second home run in as many days, a monster two-run blast over everything in right center that made the score 7-1.

Craig Heyer started the game for Trenton but left after only three innings of one-run ball. Francisco Rondon (2-0) pitched two scoreless innings to earn the win, while four more relievers combined to finish the victory.
