Three in Three for Attack
December 10, 2015 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Owen Sound Attack News Release
The Owen Sound Attack will be looking to snap a six game slide when they kick off a three-in-three weekend with a visit to the Kitchener Rangers on Friday, Dec. 11.
And when puck drops at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium at 7:30pm, both teams know they will be locked in what is sure to be a hotly contested battle.
Having met three times already on the season, the Midwest Division rivals have needed overtime to solve all three of the games, with Kitchener - the CHL's number 3 ranked team - having come out on the positive end twice.
Owen Sound will be looking to exact revenge on the Rangers, who took the last meeting between the sides by a score of 2-1 back on Nov. 14.
The Rangers' record of 22-3-3-0 has them sitting at 2nd in the Western Conference and the team is riding a four game winning streak entering Friday's tilt.
Conversely, the Attack will be looking to bust out of a funk that has seen them go 0-4-1-1 in their last six. Owen Sound is currently 7th in the Western Conference with a record of 11-11-4-2.
Both the Attack and Rangers will be without key pieces of their roster when the puck drops on Friday night, with Owen Sound missing Damir Sharipzyanov and Kitchener minus the services of Dmitrii Sergeev. The Russian rear-guards are both in their home country, attending Team Russia's IIHF U20 Championship selection camp.
Following Friday's game - which can be listened to live on Kia of Owen Sound Terry's Trailer Service Bear Radio on 560 CFOS while also viewed on Rogers Local 53 - the Attack will return home for a pair of games on Saturday and Sunday.
Owen Sound will host the Sudbury Wolves for the first and only time this year on Saturday at 7:30pm. Sudbury, last in the Eastern Conference, is 5-21-3-0 on the year and will take on the London Knights at Budweiser Gardens on Friday night before making the trip to the Scenic City.
The Attack will then close out the weekend with an Investment Planning Counsel Sunday game against the Peterborough Petes on Dec. 13. Like all IPC Securities Sunday's, the puck will drop at 2:00pm and feature free popcorn for the first 200 children through the doors, a chance to win autographed jerseys, and a post game skate and autograph session with the team.
Fans can purchase tickets for this weekend's games, and all remaining Attack home games, at the DJ's Furniture Attack Box Office, online at www.attackhockey.com, or by calling 519-371-7452.
The Weekend Preview is brought to you by Joe Tomato's, located next to the Galaxy Cinemas on the Sunset Strip. For half off wings and appetizers, fans can bring their Attack ticket stubs into Joe Tomato's following every home game.
