Winnipeg Goldeyes News Release

The Winnipeg Goldeyes are ecstatic to announce that three players have been selected to the Northern League's All-Star team.

Salamida's 6-2 record is among the best in the Northern League. He also sports a 3.84 ERA and leads the Goldeyes in strikeouts with 44.

West is second in the Northern League with a .355 batting average and is tied for third in the loop with 13 doubles. West also has a team-best .510 slugging percentage and has hit four home runs this season, while driving in 31 runs.

Long is third in Northern League batting with a .331 average and his 58 hits are third-best in the league. He has hit three home runs this season and compiled 22 RBI.

Winnipeg designated hitter Juan Diaz would have been the fourth member of Goldeyes on the all-star squad, but he will be tending to personal matters at his home in Miami during the all-star break.

The Northern League All-Stars will face the Golden League All-Stars on Wednesday, July 14 in Tucson, Ariz.
