
Five RedHawks Named to All-Star Team

FARGO, N.D. - Five members of the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks have been voted to the 2010 Northern League All-Star Team that will play the Golden Baseball League All-Stars on Wednesday, July 14 at Hi Corbett Field in Tucson, AZ. Named to the team were: 2B Carlo Cota, RHP Casey Hoorelbeke, 1B Jesse Hoorelbeke, RHP Matt Mossey and C Alan Rick. In addition, RedHawks Manager Doug Simunic will skipper the club and will be joined by Pitching Coach Steve Montgomery.
Cota is batting .287 with 14 doubles, five home runs, 18 RBIs and 20 runs scored in 39 games this season. Cota is a two-time Northern League All-Star, having previously represented Fargo-Moorhead at the 2008 All-Star Game in Winnipeg, MB.
Casey Hoorelbeke is currently leading the Northern League with a 2.04 ERA and has posted a 4-2 record in a league-best 21 appearances. In 35.1 innings pitched, Hoorelbeke has allowed nine runs (eight earned) on 24 hits. He has struck out 38 batters and walked 12.
Jesse Hoorelbeke leads the Northern League with 14 home runs. He is batting .310 with 11 doubles, 14 home runs, 33 RBIs and 27 runs scored in 39 games. Hoorelbeke is also a two-time Northern League All-Star, having been selected to play in the 2006 Northern League All-Star Game in Kansas City, KS.
Mossey is 3-1 with a 2.52 ERA in nine games (five starts) for Fargo-Moorhead this season. He is third in the league in ERA. Mossey has allowed 13 runs (11 earned) on 29 hits in 39.1 innings. He has struck out 21 batters and walked 14.
Rick is batting .291 with five doubles, seven home runs, 27 RBIs and 15 runs scored in 34 games for the RedHawks this season. Rick is making his second appearance in a Northern League All-Star Game, having been selected to play in the 2008 game in Winnipeg.
Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks RHP Chad Rhoades was selected to be on the 2010 Northern League All-Star Team, but will be unable to participate due to injury.
