JACKSON, Tenn. (August 27, 2013) - The Seattle Mariners have chosen three players, INF Chris Taylor, RHP Dominic Leone and RHP Carson Smith, from the Jackson Generals roster to represent the club in the Arizona Fall League following the 2013 season. The league is a culmination of top prospects from every organization.

He has 11 triples, 35 steals and a .409 OBP combined between the two levels in total this year. Taylor was drafted in the fifth round of 2012 out of the University of Virginia.

He had a 17.2 innings scoreless streak from June 16th to August 3rd, in which he recorded 21 strikeouts. Leone was drafted out of Clemson University in the 16th round of the 2012 draft.

Smith, 23, has spent the entire 2013 season in Double-A. In his team-leading 42 appearances, he has a 1.88 ERA while notching 14 saves. The right-hander has allowed only one home run in 48 innings of work. From June 21st, Smith has made 20 relief outings and has a 0.34 ERA with 40 strikeouts and 10 walks, surrendering only one extra-base hit.

Jim Pankovits, Jackson Generals' manager will serve as the Manager for the Peoria Javelinias. Those three will join former Jackson players, Danny Hultzen, Brandon Maurer, Stefan Romero and High Desert infielder Patrick Kevlihan.

Pankovits spoke of the prestigious league.

"It's quite the premier showcase for minor leaguers," Pankovits said. "Certainly for the guys they will be playing at a higher level and playing against some better competition consistently. They will all have particular things about their game they will need to work on."

The Javilenas are the top prospects from the Mariners, Houston Astros, San Diego Padres, Philadelphia Phillies and Kansas City Royals.

Jackson finishes up the season on the road against the Huntsville Stars beginning on Thursday. They are currently second place in the Southern League North division.
