Montgomery Biscuits News Release
MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Biscuits (68-67, 31-34) trailed 6-4 going into the bottom of the eighth inning, but a Curt Casali two-out, go-ahead single was the difference in an 8-6 win over the Jacksonville Suns (70-61, 36-28) on Montgomer's home season-finale Tuesday night at Riverwalk Stadium.
With the Biscuits trailing by two runs in the eighth inning, Delmon Young started the scoring with an RBI-single to right. Two batters later with the bases loaded and two outs, Casali battled Michael Brady before drilling a payoff pitch into left-centerfield to drive in two runs and give the Biscuits a 7-6 lead. Cameron Seitzer followed with a run-scoring single to make it 8-6.
There were five lead changes in the game including Derek Dietrich's two-run homer in the second to make it 2-1 Suns, Mikie Mahtook's RBI-single in the sixth to give the Biscuits a 3-2 lead and Danny Black's two-run single in the eighth to give the Suns a 6-4 lead.
Casali finished his night with three hits and three walks. Shawn O'Malley went 3-for-4 with two runs scored. Delmon Young went 2-for-5 with an RBI and a run.
