Three Bullfrogs Selected to All-Star Team
July 13, 2015 - Northwoods League (Northwoods)
Green Bay Rockers News Release
Green Bay, Wis.- Three Green Bay Bullfrogs' players have been selected to play in the 2015 Northwoods League All-Star Game on July 21 in Wisconsin Rapids.
Starting pitcher Garrett Harrison, closer Jeremy Graf and first baseman Ryan Donovan will each be a part of the All-Star Game representing the Bullfrogs.
Harrison has had a breakout season in his third consecutive summer in Green Bay with the Bullfrogs, and being named to the All-Star team was something he had in mind prior to the season.
"It's something I had as a goal for this summer," Harrison said. "I think I'm just more mature as a person and a pitcher this year. I have trust in my teammates that they can get the job done behind me."
In seven starts, he currently has a 1.14 earned run average and a 4-1 record in 47 1/3 innings. Harrison has been especially impressive in his last four starts, allowing just one run in 27 innings.
Harrison finished this spring with a 9-0 record and a 2.13 earned run average with St. Cloud State.
Graf has been sensational at the back end of the Bullfrogs' bullpen with nine saves. He has a 1.95 earned run average in 23 innings pitched. Graf also has 17 scoreless outings in a league-leading 20 appearances.
This is Graf's first summer in the Northwoods League. He finished his sophomore season with St. Petersburg with a 2.08 earned run average in 26 innings.
Donovan has a .282 batting average and trails only Lakeshore's Lucas Raley for runs batted in with 37. He has hit five home runs and 12 doubles in 47 games.
Donovan played in the Northwoods League last season with the Wisconsin and hit .324 in 14 games with the Woodchucks. Donovan completed his junior season this spring with Hofstra University.
General Manager Liz Kern said she is proud of the trio of Bullfrogs in this year's All-Star Game.
"We're very excited for all three guys," Kern said. "They're all working very hard, and we're excited to have them represent us in the All-Star Game."
