Portland Thorns FC News Release
PORTLAND, Ore. - Portland Thorns FC announced today that the club has signed defender Jennifer Skogerboe. She will be added to the roster pending the receipt of her International Transfer Certificate (ITC). Per league and club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
"Jen is a technically smooth player, who has good tactical awareness," said Thorns FC head coach Mark Parsons. "The most important thing for us in this period is having players who are versatile, and Jen is capable of helping us in multiple positions."
Skogerboe, 24, joins Portland after playing for FC Slovácko in the Czech Republic first division this past season, starting all 10 games and helping lead the club to a third-place finish in the league. Skogerboe spent the 2014 and 2015 seasons training with the Washington Spirit and appeared in two matches as an amateur call-up, while also playing with the Washington Spirit Reserves from 2012-15.
Thorns FC play host to Sky Blue FC on Saturday, July 2, at Providence Park; kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. (Pacific) with a live web stream at www.thornsfc.com.
