ABERDEEN, MD - Noah Syndergaard struck out nine batters over five innings, Ranfy Adon homered, helping the Brooklyn Cyclones, the Short Season Class A affiliate of the New York Mets, hold on to defeat the Aberdeen IronBirds 7-6 Tuesday night in the opener of a three-game set.

BIG MOMENTS
Noah Syndergaard earned the victory, fanning nine over five innings of three-run ball. Syndergaard threw 67 pitches, tossing 56 strikes.
Zach Ashford crashed into the right field wall, catching the final out of the ballgame, stranding the tying and winning runs on base in the ninth inning. The IronBirds entered the ninth down 7-4.
Ranfy Adon went 3-4 with a home run and three RBIs, and Joe Genord collected three hits, including an RBI double to push the lead to 7-3 in the seventh.
