Davenport, IA - First-baseman Freddie Thon made his All-Star debut last night at John O'Donnell Stadium in the 2006 Midwest League All-Star Game. Thon and his fellow West teammates lost 7-1 to the East before 4,638 fans.

Thon, the lone representative for the LumberKings, got into the game in the seventh as a defensive replacement for Beloit's Erik Lis at first base. Over the final three innings, he did not have a chance to make a defensive play.

Thon had one plate appearance on the night, coming to bat to lead off the bottom of the ninth inning. With the West trailing 7-1, he ripped the first pitch he saw from Southwest Michigan's Greg Dupas to left field, but the hard liner was gloved by Fort Wayne outfielder Will Venable. Dupas went on to retire Drew Thompson and Caleb Moore of Beloit to end the game and preserve the win for the East.

Freddie Thon and the Clinton LumberKings will start the second-half of the season Thursday night at Alliant Energy Field as the Southwest Michigan Devil Rays come to town for a four-game series. Game time is set for 7:00 pm. Listen to the game on AM 1340 KROS in Clinton, or live on the web at www.lumberkings.com.
