Cedar Rapids Kernels News Release
Kernels pitcher Nick Adenhart has been selected as a member of the United States team in the eighth annual XM Satellite Radio All-Star Futures Game on July 9 from PNC Park in Pittsburgh, PA.
The exhibition game pits a US team against a World squad, with both teams consisting of 25 of baseball's top prospects. Major League Baseball, in conjunction with all 30 clubs, combines with Baseball America to determine the players that will take the field as part of the All-Star Game festivities on July 9.
Adenhart joins former Kernel Howie Kendrick (AAA-Salt Lake) on the US Team. Cameron Maybin from West Michigan (US) and Jamie Garcia from Quad City (World) are the only players currently in the Midwest League playing in the game.
The game will be televised live at 3 pm CDT on ESPN2.
