
Third Period Comeback Falls Short in OT

(Odessa, TX) - After scoring three third period goals to force overtime, Travis Banga deflected a shot from the point in overtime to give the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees a 5-4 win on Friday night at the Ector County Coliseum.
Josh Chase scored the game-tying goal for Odessa late in the third period, but Jacks fell to 0-5-1 on their home ice. Odessa gains a point in the standings from the overtime loss and maintains their hold on first place in the Southwest Division with a 7-5-2 record.
Mike Ramsay started the comeback :20 into the third period. Kory Karlander also added two goals for the Jacks.
Friday's loss is the second of the year to Rio Grande Valley in three meetings this season.
Game two of the home-and-home series between Odessa and Rio Grande will be played Saturday night at 7:35 PM in Hidalgo, TX at Dodge Arena. The game can be heard on BOB FM 95.1 and the CHL Network.
