Recap of Last Week

The Road Warriors began the longest road trip of the season last weekend in North Charleston against the South Carolina Stingrays. A three-game set began on Friday night against the South Division rival. The Road Warriors began the weekend with a great first period of play. Greenville took a 2-0 lead into the first intermission but ended up losing the game 3-2 in regulation. Saturday told a similar story with another regulation loss, only this time a shutout, by a score of 2-0. The Road Warriors battled hard in the series finale coming back from a two goal deficit to force overtime and shootouts. The Road Warriors would lose in shootouts and fall by a score of 3-2.

Week Ahead

The road trip continues as Greenville heads to Toledo on Wednesday at 7:05 p.m. The team then enters three games in three nights, all of which in three different venues. The Road Warriors play Evansville on Friday at 8:15 p.m., Fort Wayne on Saturday at 7:30 p.m., and Kalamazoo on Sunday at 3 p.m. The Road Warriors have played Toledo three times this season, winning two games and losing just once. Greenville has also played Evansville this season, winning both games on the road. This weekend will be the first time the Road Warriors will play Fort Wayne and Kalamazoo this season. Playoff Push

The Road Warriors still stand in eighth place in the Eastern Conference and hold the final playoff spot by four points over the Kalamazoo Wings. Greenville is still in contention for the South Division title. Gwinnett holds the division lead by six points but the Road Warriors have played two fewer games than the Gladiators.

Streaks and Stats

Greenville is tied for first in the ECHL with six shootout victories. Marc-Olivier Vallerand leads the Road Warriors with 17 multipoint games. T.J. Reynolds is second in the ECHL with 48 minor penalties. Greenville lost the fourth straight game on Saturday for the first time in team history.

Transactions

The Road Warriors made one trade deadline deal on Thursday afternoon. Greenville acquired defenseman Ben Woodley from the Toledo Walleye in exchange for future considerations. Woodley, 21, is in his first professional year after spending the past two years in the British Columbia Hockey League with the Prince George Spruce Kings. In eight games with the Walleye this season, Woodley has compiled 16 penalty minutes and a -2 rating. Last season with the Spruce Kings, the London Ontario native led defenseman in points with five goals and 42 assists. The right handed rookie measures in at 6'6'' and 230 lbs.
