SPRINGFIELD, MA Jan. 23, 2010 - The Los Angeles Clippers signed guard JamesOn Curry of the Springfield Armor today for the eighth GATORADE Call-Up of the 2009-10 NBA Development League season. Curry's call-up increases the number of current NBA players with NBA D-League experience to 69.

Curry, the Armor's first draft pick in franchise history, has started in the first 19 of Springfield's 20 games this season, averaging 16.1 points, 7.5 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals in 41.2 minutes. He has scored in double-figures 16 times, and registered four double-doubles including season-highs in points (32) and assists (16) on Jan. 9 in a home 113-110 overtime victory over the Maine Red Claws.

"We are extremely proud of JamesOn and his accomplishment of making it to the next level," said Head Coach of the Springfield Armor, Dee Brown. "That is what this League is all about; developing players to the best of their ability so that they have the chance to make it to the next level. JamesOn is an extremely talented individual and has worked very hard. I am happy to see him excel and we wish him only the best of luck with the Clippers."

Curry was originally selected in the second round (51st overall) of the 2007 NBA Draft by the Chicago Bulls but has yet to appear in a regular-season NBA game. In the 2007 NBA preseason, he averaged 4.0 points, 2.1 assists and 1.9 rebounds in 7.3 minutes with the Bulls. During his stint with Chicago, Curry spent 13 games on assignment with the Iowa Energy, the Bulls' NBA D-League affiliate. While there, he averaged 20.2 points, 5.5 assists and 3.2 rebounds.

Curry finished his college career at Oklahoma State averaging 13.5 points, 3.5 assists, and 1.1 rebounds in 101 games played (83 starts) and was selected Third Team All-Big 12 as well as Second Team All-District 12 by the NABC during his junior season.

Curry officially joined the Clippers last night and will be available when the team travels to Washington, D.C. to take on the Wizards tomorrow, Jan. 24. Curry will be back in Massachusetts on Monday when the Clippers play in Boston against the Celtics.
