Kansas City Outlaws News Release
FIRST PLACE AFTER FIVE GAMES:
After a 2-0 start at Kemper Arena on October 15 and 16, the Kansas City Outlaws took two out of three on the beginning of their 15-game road trip to bring their record to 4-1 and sole possession of first place in the UHL's Western Division. The Outlaws won their first ever road game against fellow expansion franchise Motor City Mechanics on Friday night by a score of 4-3. Saturday night brought the Outlaws organization its first loss at the defending UHL champion Muskegon Fury. Sunday was back on the winning track in Port Huron...
LAST WEEK's Showdowns:
- Friday, October 22 @ Motor City Mechanics: WIN (4-3) The first hat trick in team history came with the first road win for the Outlaws, as Right Winger Joe Seroski tallied three goals and Goalie Maxime Gingras stopped 36 of 39 Mechanics shots.
- Saturday, October 23 @Muskegon Fury: LOSS (5-2) The Fury have defended their title to perfection as the undefeated defending champs were the first "bad guys" in history to shoot down the Outlaws. The bright side for the Outlaws was the play of Joe Seroski who tallied the only goals for Kansas City on Saturday. Up to this point he has accounted for five of his team's six goals on the road.
- Sunday, October 24 @ Port Huron Beacons: WIN (6-4) The high scoring affair gave the Outlaws eight points in the standings and sole possession of first place in the Western Division. It's no fluke... the Outlaws are for REAL early in their existence!!!
WANTED TEAMS ON THE HORIZON:
- Friday, October 29 @ Rockford IceHogs: This inter-division opponent is 3-1 (all at home) and have outscored their opponents 21-13 in four games. Rockford might be rockin' as they are third in league attendance behind Kansas City and Fort Wayne with 4,156 per contest at the Richmond Coliseum.
- Saturday, October 30 @ Quad City Mallards: How hard should it be for an Outlaw to squash a Mallard? The Mallards currently quack at the bottom of the Western Division at 1-3. However, this battle will be the first home game for Quad City in the 2004-2005 season and Quad City will want to impress their fans.
Outlaws add gunslinger with nhl experience:
On Friday, Outlaws General Manager Joe Bucchino announced that defenseman Mathieu Descoteaux signed with Kansas City. He joins Jason Ruff as the second Outlaw with NHL experience as Descoteaux was a #19 overall first round selection by the Edmonton Oilers in 1996. He made an immediate impact in his first game by tallying an assist verses Motor City that proved to be the game winning goal to Seroski on a power play on Friday night.
