The Kelowna Rockets defeated the Prince George Cougars 4-3 in overtime on Saturday night at the CN Centre in Prince George.

The Rockets opened up the scoring 11:51 into the opening frame on the power play as Kole Lind notched his team leading seventh of the year with assists going to Dillon Dube and Cal Foote. Kelowna took a 1-0 lead into the second period.

Carsen Twarynski extended the Rockets lead finishing off a breakaway set up by Dillon Dube and Kelowna led 2-0 after 40 minutes.

3:03 into the final stanza Brogan O'Brien got the Cougars on the board with a shorthanded marker. Jackson Leppard then scored followed by a PP marker from Dennis Cholowski to give PG a 3-2 lead. Prince George held that lead until Konrad Belcourt one-timed a bouncing puck from the Cougars blue line to record his first WHL goal and knot the game up at 3-3 with 1:38 remaining. Dube collected his third assist of the night on the Rockets third goal. For the second night in a row the Rockets and Cougars were off to overtime.

It took until 4:17 into the extra frame but Dillon Dube scored to end the night capping off a four point performance(1G, 3A). Carsen Twarynski assisted the OT winner finishing his night off with a goal and an assist.

James Porter records the win for the Rockets giving him a 1-0-0-0 record on the season after making 42 saves on 45 shots.

The Rockets improve to 4-1-0-1 on the season.

Kelowna is back home on Friday, October 13th, when the Calgary Hitmen come to Prospera Place. Puck drop is 7:05pm.
