Medicine Hat, AB - Prince Albert Raiders overager Jordy Stallard had a goal and five assists to lead his team to a 6-1 victory over the Medicine Hat Tigers on Saturday night at the Canalta Centre.

Stallard got the scoring underway for the Raiders in the first period. He buried a cross-ice pass from Cole Fonstad on the power play for his third goal of the season.

Just seven seconds into the second, the Tigers tied the game. Mark Rassell was sprung on a breakaway and made no mistake in beating Raiders goaltender Curtis Meger. Just two minutes later, Cole Fonstad entered the attacking zone on a partial breakaway and wired a shot over the shoulder of Tigers goaltender Jordan Hollett.

Midway through the second, the Raiders lost defenceman Brayden Pachal. After taking a hit from Max Gerlach, Pachal ended up hitting Gerlach with his stick as he fell to the ice. Pachal was assessed a five-minute major for slashing and a game misconduct.

However, with Gerlach in the box for his hit, the Raiders took advantage of the 4-on-4 time. Zack Hayes took a pass from the corner and snapped it past Hollett to give the Raiders a two-goal advantage. Thirty seconds later, Max Martin finished off a beautiful give-and-go play with Stallard to put the Raiders up 4-1 after two periods.

In the third, Parker Kelly scored two goals to round out the scoring for the Raiders. Both goals were redirected shots from Stallard.

Meger was strong between the pipes again for the Raiders, allowing just one goal on 26 shots. Hollett made 14 saves before being pulled after allowing the fifth goal. Duncan McGovern played the rest of the game for the Tigers, stopping one shot.

Up next for the Raiders is a home game against the Memorial Cup host Regina Pats on Friday night at the Art Hauser Centre. Tickets are available at raiderhockey.com, at the Raider Office, or by calling 307-764-GAME.
