Prince George Cougars News Release
PRINCE GEORGE, BC - The Prince George Cougars are very excited to announce a change of date and venue for the 2011 The Home Depot Backyard Rink Contest. The winning family and selected members of the Prince George Cougars will have the privilege to play a game of shinny at CN Centre on Thursday, February 17.
The contest is open to everyone and will close at noon on Friday, February 11. A random draw will decide the winner of the contest on Monday, February, 14. Moving the shinny game to CN Centre ensures every hockey fan in Prince George can take part in the draw and removes inclement weather from disrupting the event from happening.
Last year, the Braaten family of College Heights was the local winner in the Home Depot Backyard Rink Contest - a nationwide event executed in several different markets.
To enter, contestants must simply fill out a ballot at The Home Depot store at 5959 O ¬â¢Grady Road, or at the Cougars office at CN Centre.
