The Lowdown

This will be the 2nd of 4 meetings between the Tigers and the Pats. The first was back on November 21st at the Medicine Hat Arena Cole Grbavac started the scoring on a delayed penalty in the 1st, but Chandler Stephenson's 3rd of the season tied it at one only to see Linden Vey help the Tigers to a 2-1 lead after 20 minutes. Back to back goals by the Tigers in the 2nd (Etem shorthanded and Shinkaruk) pushed them to a 4-1 lead but Brandon Davidson's power play goal late in the second made it a 2 goal game after the second.

The two teams each scored twice in the 3rd (Ashton and Mitchell for the Pats) as the Tigers went on to the 6-4 win. Damien Ketlo made 26 saves in the loss.

Tiger Tales:

The Tigers are in a fight for the top spot in the Central Division with the Kootenay Ice and the Red Deer Rebels, but a slow January (5-5-0-0) have seen them slip a bit in the standings. They bring solid specialty teams as both the power play and the penalty kill are both in the top ten in the WHL

The Pats have gone to overtime 15 times this season. 6 times they have lost in extra time, but in the 9 other games that had to go to a shoot-out, the blue and white are 8-1 so far this season. Jordan Weal is a sparkling 8/9 in shootout's while Shayne Neigum is 3/3.

Clash Cancelled:

The 4th annual Trans-Canada Clash between the Pats and Warriors Alumni has been cancelled this year because of a lack of players from the Warrior Alumni. It was schedule for 1pm this Saturday afternoon at the Brandt Centre. The Pats won the first three games heading into the season.

Next Action:
