Waterloo, Iowa - The Waterloo Black Hawks' 2023/24 schedule is packed with giveaways, theme nights, special jerseys, and more.

On Wednesday, the Hawks revealed this season's promotions planned for Young Arena, beginning with the home opener on Saturday, October 14th against the Omaha Lancers. Fans in attendance for that 6:05 p.m. contest will receive a 2023/24 schedule poster presented by Karen's Print Rite. The night will also be this season's first Signature Saturday, with select players available for autographs on the concourse after the game. Most exciting, fans purchasing a ticket for the home opener will receive a free ticket for Waterloo's second home game of the season less than a week later: an October 20th rematch of last spring's playoff series against the Lincoln Stars.

"In March and April, Black Hawks fans filled Party Town night-in and night-out, making this the most electric atmosphere in the United States Hockey League," said Waterloo President and COO Joe Greene. "We want to keep that going into the new season and set the tone: this is a fun place to be as a fan and a really tough place to visit as an opponent."

The promotional schedule includes a range of new and familiar offerings. Christie Door Company will once again sponsor free youth jerseys to the first 500 kids on hand for Waterloo's November 17th matchup against the Dubuque Fighting Saints. The annual Thanksgiving celebration and Teddy Bear Toss is presented by Lincoln Savings Bank. Returning from a hiatus, postgame skating with Black Hawks players is back on two Sunday afternoons: February 18th against the Sioux City Musketeers and March 24th versus the Tri-City Storm. For the first time ever, the Hawks will commemorate the team's most illustrious alum: March 9th is Joe Pavelski bobblehead night, presented by U.S. Bank.

In fact, the March 9th game versus the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders will provide the opportunity to remember the contributions of the entire 2003/04 Black Hawks Clark Cup team. Approaching 20 years since Waterloo captured the USHL's postseason championship, this season's Hawks will take the ice in replica jerseys which will be auctioned after that game.

Four other commemorative jersey auctions highlight the 2023/24 schedule. The first is November 4th on Hockey Fights Cancer Assist Night presented by Mike Molstead Motors and benefitting the American Cancer Society. On December 9th, the Hawks will wear patriotic jerseys presented by American Pattern & CNC Works. The longstanding tradition of green and gold sweaters returns on February 2nd and 3rd during a Weekend with the Black Hawks presented by John Deere. Finally, Waterloo's second edition Cedar Valley Origins jerseys are slated for games on April 5th and 6th, with a postgame auction that will raise funds for Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity.
