The Flint Firebirds 2022-23 Overagers: Will Cranley, Tyler Deline and Riley Piercey

Flint, Mich. - The Ontario Hockey League's overage player deadline was Monday, January 9 and to no surprise, goaltender Will Cranley, defenseman Tyler Deline and forward Riley Piercey are set to finish out their OHL career's this season in Flint.

Will Cranley came to Flint this offseason after spending the last four seasons with the Ottawa 67's. The Peterborough, Ontario native has played the 4th most games among active OHL goaltenders with 102 and ranks 4th in wins with 49. He was a 2020 6th-round draft pick (#163 overall) by the St. Louis Blues in the NHL Draft and is currently 6th in the league this year for wins with 14.

Tyler Deline was selected by the Firebirds in the 6th round (#102 overall) of the 2018 OHL Priority Selection. The Peterborough, Ontario native made his Firebirds debut in the 2018-19 season. For his career, Deline has played in 144 games scoring 12 G and 59 A. His 71 Pts rank 5th all-time among Firebirds defensemen. His 26 points on the season rank him 15th among all OHL defensemen.

Riley Piercey was acquired by Flint at the 2019-20 trade deadline and he has since climbed the rankings of Firebirds' history. The Mississauga, Ontario native was a 1st round pick (#16 overall) of the Barrie Colts in the 2018 OHL Priority Selection. He ranks 4th among active OHL skaters in games played with 218 and 11th in Pts with 141. All-time with the Firebirds, Piercey ranks 8th in G (48), 8th in A (67) and 7th in Pts (114).

The Flint Firebirds are set to honor their three overage players on Saturday, March 18th against the London Knights. Puck drop is set for 7:00 p.m. and tickets are available on ETIX HERE.

Next up for the Firebirds: The Firebirds continue the current five-game road trip with games in Barrie, Sudbury and North Bay this weekend. Flint returns home next weekend for back-t0-back home games. First, on Saturday, January 21 when they host the Saginaw Spirit for another installment of the I-75 Divide Cup, presented by Coors Light. Sunday, January 22 is a Family 'FUN'day game against the Erie Otters at 4:00 p.m. Get two FREE kids tickets for every paid adult admission available any time leading up to the game at the Dort Financial Center Box Office only. The Firebirds will have various S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) activities on the concourse during the game. Children 17 & under that complete or visit all activity booth activities around the concourse will receive a special prize for their participation at the guest services table. Supporting organizations that will be present on S.T.E.A.M Day: YMCA Camp Copneconic, Kettering University, and Math4Flint.
