Greenville Drive News Release
Greenville, SC - The Greenville Drive pulled through in game five with a 7-1 win after a tough loss against the Greensboro Grasshoppers in game four. Newcomer Tyler Uberstine took the win for Greenville after pitching 5.1 innings and allowing no runs.
The action began in the second inning as Philip Sikes went out on a sacrifice fly to allow Joe Davis to run home.
Two scoreless innings flew by before Greenville put three more runs on the board in the fifth. Matthew Lugo put in the effort as he homered with Brandon Howlett and Antoni Flores on base, bringing the Drive's lead to 4-0.
Tyler McDonough rolled over in the seventh scoring Sikes. After a dry spell, Greensboro finally put a run up after an RBI single from Hudson Head. However, Greenville was still ahead 5-1.
To close out the game, McDonough and Niko Kavadas both hit RBI singles to put the nail in the Grasshoppers' coffin. The Drive finished off the win with a final score of 7-1.
