
The Black Bears' Come Back Falls Short

West Virginia Black Bears News Release
(July 9, 2016)- The Black Bears lost game two on Saturday by a 4-3 final. The ValleyCats held a 4-0 lead through six innings of play. In the bottom of the seventh, SS Stephen Alemais had a line drive single to right that put the Black Bears on the board 4-1. The Black Bears rallied back in the bottom of the ninth with a line drive to right by 3B Jordan George that would drive two runs in, 4-3. The ValleyCats held off the Black Bears threat to end the game with a final score of 4-3.
Starting pitcher, P James Marvel started the game with five strikeouts, allowing only one run off four hits in four innings pitched.
DH Will Craig had his first multi-hit home game with a pair of singles. 2B Nick King made his first home start tonight and went 2-4 with a pair of singles.
The Black Bears will be back in action Sunday, July 10 at 4:05pm. Sunday is Shoney's Family Fun Day as well as Space Day. Come out to the ballpark and enjoy a great day with face painting and balloon twisting and rockets!
