The Attack Face a Must Win Situation Tonight at the Bayshore
May 12, 2011 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Owen Sound Attack News Release
The Owen Sound Attack will square off against the Mississauga Saint Michael's Major's in what is arguably the biggest game ever at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre. The Attack trails the Majors three games to two in the best of seven Rogers OHL Championship Series and will look to force a game seven at the Hershey Centre on Sunday afternoon.
The Attack trailed the series 2-0 before clawing back with a pair of overtime wins to tie the series at two games a piece, so winning back to back games against the OHL's #1 ranked team is quite do-able. "We dug ourselves a hole early in the series and we had to fight to even it up.", said Attack Captain Garrett Wilson. "We have a whole city and region behind us. Hopefully they play a huge part in tonight's game."
The Attack will be without forward Andrew Shaw who was suspended for the remainder of the Rogers OHL Championship Series after receiving a Match Penalty for roughing. It is unknown at this time who will take Shaw's place in the lineup. Attack Head Coach Mark Reeds has also been tight lipped regarding his starting goaltender for game 6, saying that it is a "wait and see" situation. Major's Head Coach Dave Cameron was fined $2500.00 for comments made after the game regarding the Attack's physical play.
Standing room tickets are still available for what is the last home game of the 2010/2011 season, regardless of the outcome. Standing room tickets can be purchased at the Attack Box Office on the way in. Game time this evening is 7:00pm.
