Chesapeake Baysox News Release
With the 2004 season now finished I wanted to thank all of you for a fantastic season! You kept things exciting all year long and made me feel like a true celebrity everytime I roamed the stands handing out hugs. We had a lot of fun with three BIG events that were unique to Prince George's Stadium (AKA - Louie's House). For the second-straight year we hosted Allen Iverson and his boyz for the "Allen Iverson Celebrity Summer Classic"! I even got to meet Lebron James.. He's tall.. BUT I think I had him by an inch! On July 14th we hosted the "3-A-Day of Dairy Eastern League All-Star Game" with 7 of my best Baysox player pals! We even saw Laila "She Bee Stingin'" Ali Keep that shiny championship belt in our 1st ever boxing match!
I was also proud to welcome our 4 millionth fan to the ballpark! We also had some great baseball as we had the best record (73-69) since 1997! Way to go boys! Three of my Baysox Buddies: DANIEL CABRERA, DENNY BAUTISTA, and VAL MAJEWSKI got the call directly up to "The Show" at Camden Yards to join the ORIOLES!!! JOHN MAINE, also took the mound at the Yard with the big league club for one game.. Way to Go John!
While baseball is done this season, I'm going to be staying busy around the stadium with double-feature Drive-In Movies on our BIG screen (it's even bigger than my belly) every Friday and Saturday starting at 8:00 pm. We'll host our fifth Central Maryland Career Fair on Friday, September 24th from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm. But what I am really looking forward to is the Middleton Manor Haunted House just in time for Halloween! This is the 18th year that my friends from Tulip Gulch have put together the greatest haunted house this side of Transylvania! I'll look forward to seeing you for one of our 10 haunted house dates in October, if you dare to attend!!!
