Texas Stars Announce Initial Training Camp Schedule and Roster

CEDAR PARK, Texas - The Texas Stars, American Hockey League affiliate of the NHL's Dallas Stars, announced the team's initial training camp roster and schedule for the 2018 preseason today.

The Stars camp roster consists of 29 players (17 forwards, nine defensemen, and three goaltenders). The team begins formal practices this morning at 10 a.m. at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park. All practices are open to the media and a formal media day has been scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 2 at 11 a.m.

Select practices will also be open to the public. For a schedule of open practices, see our training camp schedule below. Fans who attend open practices are instructed to enter the H-E-B Center at the south doors of the building and sit in sections 106 and 107 only.

The 17 forwards attending camp are Dexter Dancs, Joel L'Esperance, Colin Markison, Adam Mascherin, Colton Hargrove, Steven McParland, Nicholas Caamano, Tony Calderone, James Phelan, Brad McClure, Travis Morin, Kale Kessy, Spencer Naas, Robbie Payne, Kyle Schempp, Elgin Pearce, and Samuel Laberge.

The nine defensemen are Shane Hanna, Keegan Kanzig, Brady Noorish, Nolan Gluchowkski, Ben Gleason, Niklas Hansson, Clint Lewis, Chris Martenet, and Ondrej Vala.

The three goaltenders are Tomas Scholl, Philippe Desrosiers, and Colton Point.

The Texas Stars will face the San Antonio Rampage in a pair of preseason games later this week. On Friday, Sept. 28, the Stars travel to the AT&T Center in San Antonio for a 7 p.m. game before returning home to the H-E-B Center on Saturday, Sept. 29 for a 5 p.m. puck drop.

The Stars open the 10th anniversary season on Friday, Oct. 5 at 7:00 p.m. when they host the Grand Rapids Griffins. The team will raise the 2018 AHL Western Conference Championship banner before the puck drops on opening night.
