Chicago Wolves News Release
GLENVIEW, Ill. - The Chicago Wolves announced Tuesday that forwards T.J. Tynan and Stefan Matteau, defenseman Griffin Reinhart and goaltender Max Lagace have been assigned to the team after spending 10 days at Vegas Golden Knights training camp. All four played crucial roles for the Central Division-winning Wolves last season.
Tynan, a 26-year-old Orland Park native, shared the team lead with 45 assists and ranked second on the squad with 60 points. He competed in the 2018 AHL All-Star Classic and produced his first professional hat trick when he scored three goals against the Iowa Wild on Dec. 16.
Matteau racked up 15 goals and 12 assists in 60 Wolves games and also contributed one assist in eight appearances for Vegas. Reinhart was a staple on the blue line and posted 12 points (2G, 10A) while ranking second on the team with a +20 plus/minus rating.
The 25-year-old Lagace shattered the Wolves franchise record for single-game saves when he piled up 72 saves during the Wolves' triple-overtime thriller in Game 3 of the Central Division Semifinals on April 26 against Rockford. He posted a 14-5-1 record with a 2.84 goals-against average in 23 games for the Wolves last year while authoring a 6-7-1 record in 16 appearances for Vegas. He also served as the Golden Knights' backup goaltender for every game of the Stanley Cup Final.
Their arrival at Triphahn Center in Hoffman Estates swells the Wolves' training camp roster to 39 players: 21 forwards, 13 defensemen and five goaltenders. Head coach Rocky Thompson's team will practice every morning this week leading up to Saturday's exhibition game at Milwaukee.
The Wolves are celebrating their 25th anniversary season throughout the year starting with the home opener on Saturday, Oct. 13, against the Grand Rapids Griffins at Allstate Arena. All fans receive free parking for all 38 home games courtesy of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana Kia dealers. To unlock ticket specials, visit ChicagoWolves.com or call 1-800-THE-WOLVES.
