Belleville signs Beauchemin and Paterson to two-way AHL dealsSep 25th 2018, 20:13

The Belleville Senators have signed forward Francois Beauchemin and goaltender Jake Paterson to one-year, two-way American Hockey League contracts.

Beauchemin, 22, played in 31 games with the Springfield Thunderbirds last season scoring five goals and adding nine assists during his first season of professional hockey.

The Metis-sur-Mer, QC., native also suited up in 22 games with the ECHL's Manchester Monarchs where he had 12 points (seven goals).

Over the course of a five-year QMJHL career with Rimouski, Val d'Or and Charlotte, Beauchemin registered 75 goals and 168 points in 237 contests including a career high 97 points in 2016-17. He won the Presidents Cup in 2015 with the Oceanic.

Paterson appeared in four games last season with the Milwaukee Admirals going 1-1 with a 3.28 GAA and also appeared in the ECHL for Norfolk, Quad City and Allen tallying a combined 11-10 record.

The Mississauga native won 34 games in 2016-17 with the Toledo Walleye and was named to the ECHL Second All-Star team at years end. He was a third round pick (80th overall) of the Detroit Red Wings in 2012 after a standout OHL career with Saginaw and Kitchener.
