Lynchburg Hillcats News Release

Myrtle Beach, SC - Joey Terdoslavich launched his team leading 10th home run of the season in the sixth inning Sunday afternoon at BB&T Coastal Field. His blast broke up a 3-3 tie and put the Hillcats on top for good as Lynchburg took the series finale 5-3 and the series 2-1 over the Pelicans.

The offense got started early again in Myrtle Beach. The Hillcats tagged Pelicans' starter Wilfredo Boscan with four hits and three runs in the top of the first inning. Barrett Kleinknecht delivered a two-out two-run single with the bases loaded to put the 'Cats on the board. Then with runners at first and third, Jace Whitmer doubled down the left field line scoring one, but Kleinknecht would get thrown out at the plate ending the inning 3-0 Hillcats.

The Pelicans came back with two runs in the bottom of the second when Jared Prince went deep to left field. Prince's long ball brought Myrtle Beach within one, as they trailed 3-2 after the second frame.

Mike Olt erased the early Hillcats' lead completely with a solo shot in the third inning. It was his sixth of the season as the game started anew tied up 3-3.

The game stayed tied until the sixth inning when Joey Terdoslavich stepped up with a runner at first and nobody out. Terdoslavich lifted an outside fastball high and deep to left-center field. The ball crashed off the bottom of the scoreboard in left for Terdoslavich's 10th home run of the season. The big fly put the 'Cats ahead 5-3.

Delgado has now won four straight appearances for the Hillcats, including three winning starts. Wilfredo Boscan (0-1) took the loss after giving up five runs in six innings of work. Eliecer Cardenas pitched a perfect ninth inning, saving his third game in as many opportunities.

The Hillcats improved to 13-21 with the win but remain in fourth place in the Northern Division.
