Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins News Release

For the fourth consecutive season, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins will be teaming up with Adelphia 63, WNEP-TV's 24-hour News Channel, to televise a select number of home contests.

Adelphia 63 will televise 10 games this season, starting with the Penguins' home opener against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on October 5. Billed as "Hockey Night in Northeastern Pennsylvania," the package will feature live broadcasts from the Wachovia Arena at Casey Plaza, as well as a replay of each game, that will reach more than 90,000 Adelphia Cable subscribers.

"We are happy to be partnering with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins to again bring ‘live' Hockey Night telecasts to the area," said Lou Kirchen, President & General Manager of WNEP-TV. "Our 10 game 2005-06 Hockey Night schedule gives Penguins fans another way to enjoy their favorite game throughout the season. It is wonderful to partner with an organization that shares our commitment to this region."

In addition to the Sound Tigers, Penguins fans will also get a chance to see divisional rivals from Hershey and Binghamton, as well as the Syracuse Crunch, Manitoba Moose, Toronto Marlies and Portland Pirates.

"We have enjoyed our relationship with WNEP and Adelphia 63 during the past three seasons, and look forward to bringing exciting Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins hockey into area homes once again this year," said team President Rich Hixon. "The reaction we have received from the fans about Adelphia 63's coverage in the past has been nothing but positive, and we look forward to showcasing the team throughout the region during the 2005-06 season."

Tom Grace, ‘The Voice of the Penguins', will hand play-by-play duties for all games, which will be simulcast on Oldies 92 and 100.
