
Templeton Sweeps Doubleheader

Behind two home runs from Louie Templeton the Calgary Vipers (13-11) defeated the Chico Outlaws (8-14) 7-5 at Nettleton Stadium in Chico, California to sweep a double-header featuring two seven inning games. Calgary's third baseman had a big night going two-for-three with two home runs and four runs batted in. Trailing 3-1 after three innings the Vipers scored five unanswered runs over the next three frames to take the lead for good.
Canadian Shawn Hetherington (2-0) registered the win in his first professional start while out of the bullpen Scott Watson threw a scoreless inning, Chris Bodishbaugh closed out the sixth inning, and Claudio Galva (7) recorded another perfect save with two strikeouts. Jason Mackintosh (1-2) took the loss in giving up six runs in five and two-third innings.
The Vipers continue this seven games in five days series in Chico against the Outlaws on Monday June 20th with another double-header starting at 6:00.
Calgary will return home on Thursday June 23rd at 7:05 to take on the Strong Warriors of Maui.
The Calgary Vipers will be hosting three Women's Pro Fastpitch games between the USAA Pride and the Tennessee Diamonds August 2nd, 3rd and 4th at 6:30 at Foothills Stadium. Tickets are $16 for the Lower Bowl and $12 for the Upper Bowl. Three game packages are also available for $45 and $33. In addition there will be two skill clinics August 2nd and 4th from 10am - 12pm. Cost is $99 for a Clinic and Lunch or $120 for the Clinic, Lunch and two Lower Bowl tickets. There will also be a Lunch Banquet August 3rd including an autograph session with both teams and a lower bowl ticket to the August 3rd game for $49.95 with keynote speaker Cheri Kempf, the Commissioner of the NPF and an ESPN analyst.
