Las Vegas Wranglers News Release
Las Vegas - The Las Vegas Wranglers will welcome special opponents to the ice on Friday, Dec. 2, for the team's 9th annual Teddy Bear Toss. The Fremont Street Fuzzies, whose fuzziness is only matched by their fierceness, will face off against the Wranglers to benefit Sunrise Acres Elementary School in eastern Las Vegas.
Leading the line-up for the Fuzzies is Winnie the Pooh, who has been the team's captain for the past two seasons, with Paddington Bear and Elmo as respective left and right wings. Teddy Ruxpin and Fozzie Bear will bolster the blue line, and Sock Monkey has been named goaltender for the match with a 0.875 save percentage. Mr. Potato Head will be behind the bench as the team's head coach. The Wranglers have not announced their line-up for Friday.
To support the Fuzzies, fans can bring new teddy bears and other stuffed animals to throw onto the ice after the Wranglers score their first goal of the night. Fans will receive a raffle ticket for each stuffed animal donated that enters them into a drawing for various prizes.
"The more stuffed animals on the ice means more support for the team," said Fuzzy Wuzzy, forward for Fremont Street. "It shows the Wranglers that we're about to stuff them with some goals of our own."
The puck drops at 7:05 p.m. at Orleans Arena.
2011-12 season seat packages, starting at $30, are on sale now at (702) 471-PUCK. Individual tickets to Wranglers games are available by phone at (702) 284-7777, and can be purchased in person at all Coast Casino properties, Town Square shopping center or online at www.orleansarena.com. The Wranglers play all 36 regular season home games at the Orleans Arena, located next to the Orleans Hotel and Casino at 4500 W. Tropicana Ave.
