Kitchener Rangers News Release
Help make holiday dreams come true on Tuesday, December 7th, at the 26th Annual TEDDY BEAR TOSS GAME presented by Canadian Tire Jumpstart, Giving kids a sporting chance.
The Kitchener Rangers host the London Knights at 7pm and ask you to bring a NEW teddy bear to the game. Immediately following the Rangers first goal, throw your bear onto the ice surface! Bears will then be collected & turned over to local charitable organizations just in time for Christmas.
TICKETS AVAILABLE
New this season, bears will be distributed following the toss (on game night). We ask that individuals, groups and organizations wanting bears, register below and follow instructions on how to access the venue for pick up.
Please also note that we will not be selling bears at the game this season.
To make our annual toss a success, we ask that fans wishing to bring bears or plush toys follow our toss guidelines below.
Teddy Bear Guidelines & Restrictions
New Bears Only
We ask that fans only toss NEW bears that are placed in a clear plastic bag.
Size
The most asked for bears are the small to medium-large (6"-36" tall)! Giant bears are fun but are harder to rehome. Consider recipient needs when buying your bears!
Material
Steer clear of any bears with battery packs or larger hard surfaces. The toss is meant to be enjoyable for all fans and throwing a hard object could cause injury to someone in the crowd. Fluffy and soft is the way to go!
Clean
It's important we keep those NEW stuffies dry and clean for their future owners. You don't want them to pick up any dirt or water on the ice or ground. All bears MUST be NEW and wrapped in clear plastic bags (available upon entry if needed).
Recipient Forms & Pickup
Calling all those in need of bears!
Please note, we have made changes to recipient pick up.
New this season, you will not be able to open large bags to sort and look through. You can claim as many large bags of bears as you want but must take the entire large bag with you. This will ensure bears are kept clean from their original purchase and donation point.
Pickup Details - Changed from Previous Seasons
Bears are first come, first serve. Please plan accordingly. Recipients will form a line in the main lobby of The Aud to the left side and starting under the main stairwell at our Teddy Bear Toss Table. We will have staff running out large prebagged bears.
December 7 - 10pm: Pick up will occur the night of the game. We ask that recipients arrive for 10pm collection.
December 8 - 12-noon: Alternatively, any remaining bears will be available starting at 12-noon on December 8.
Recipient Pick Up Location
All recipients picking up must enter through door 13 located by The Aud Box office that faces Ottawa Street. If inside the venue during the game, note we have a no re-entry policy in effect. We will start pick up at 10pm following the game. Minimal carts are available, please bring an extra helper to run bears to your vehicle (you may make multiple trips).
Due to Covid restrictions at the facility, YOU MUST REGISTER and pass vaccination and covid check upon entry.
