Kamloops Blazers News Release

Kamloops, BC - The Kamloops Blazers are pleased to announce that 3,250 teddy bears and other stuffed animals were collected from Saturday night's game versus the Moose Jaw Warriors. Also, 685 toques, gloves, and scarves were collected.

It is estimated that the Blazers collected almost 1,000 more items than last year's teddy bear toss game thanks to the 5,053 fans that came out! These items will be distributed to 22 local groups which include Interior Health, Boys and Girls Club, Kamloops Infant Development Society and Family Resource Centre Kamloops Child Development.

A special thank you goes out to all those that helped out with the teddy bear pick-up including the Girl Guides, KMHA teams, and SKSS volleyball team. Also, the Blazers would like to thank the Booster Club for sorting, counting and helping to distribute the donations.

The Blazers would also like to thank Zimmer Autosport who was the game night sponsor and provided the trucks for pick-up.

Movember, which helps raise money for men's health during the month November, concluded on Saturday. The Kamloops Blazers raised $508 during the month. The entire Canadian Hockey League raised $170,315 for the Movember campaign.
