Tampa Bay Lightning Reassign Defenseman Slater Koekkoek to Syracuse Crunch

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Tampa Bay Lightning have reassigned defenseman Slater Koekkoek to the Syracuse Crunch, Lightning vice president and general manager Steve Yzerman announced today.

Koekkoek, 22, has played in six games with the Lightning this season, recording one assist and two penalty minutes. He registered his first career NHL point on Monday night against the Philadelphia Flyers with an assist on Ondrej Palat's first period goal. Koekkoek has also skated in 48 games with the Crunch this season, posting five goals and 13 points to go along with 22 penalty minutes. He is tied for third among Syracuse defensemen for goals.

The native of Winchester, Ontario was originally selected by Tampa Bay in the first round, 10th overall, at the 2012 NHL Draft.
