TACOMA, WASH. - Tacoma Defiance (8-9-6, 30 points) looks to jump back into playoff positioning as it hosts Phoenix Rising FC (16-3-9, 53 points) Saturday evening at Cheney Stadium (7:00 p.m. PT / ESPN+). This is the third time this season the two sides have met. The squads faced off on June 12 and September 5, 3-0 and 3-1 wins for Phoenix, respectively. Tacoma and Phoenix meet for a fourth and final regular-season meeting on October 30 in Phoenix.

Tacoma is currently level with Oakland Roots SC for the fourth and final playoff position in the Pacific Division standings with 30 points. However, Oakland currently holds the advantage in head-to-head points, the first tie-breaker category.

Following its match this evening, Tacoma has a week off before heading to California to take on Sacramento Republic FC on Saturday, October 2 (7:30 p.m. PT / ESPN+).
