SAN DIEGO, CALIF. - Tacoma Defiance (8-8-6, 30 points) fell 1-0 to San Diego Loyal SC (11-9-4, 37 points) Sunday afternoon. After the result, Tacoma is 3-1-0 against San Diego this season.

Loyal SC bagged the only goal of the match on a corner-kick when Joshua Yaro got his head on a ball in from Charlie Adams that bounced into the bottom left corner of the net.

Despite conceding the lone goal, goalkeeper Spencer Richey had a noteworthy game, recording five saves, including a four-save sequence from point-blank range in the fourth minute to keep the game scoreless early.

Tacoma remains in fourth place in the Pacific Division standings after the loss, four points back of third-place Orange County SC with two games in hand.

Tacoma has three days to prepare for its next matchup against Sacramento Republic FC on Wednesday, September 22 (7:00 p.m. PT / ESPN+).
