Syracuse Signs Sean Connolly and Riley Cote To AHL Contracts

Syracuse, NY (August 19, 2003) – The Syracuse Crunch announced today that they have signed defenseman Sean Connolly and left wing Riley Cote to American Hockey League (AHL) contracts.

Connolly, 22, appeared in 14 games with the Binghamton Senators (AHL) last season, recording one assist and six penalty minutes. He also played 32 games with the Trenton Titans (ECHL), tallying 3 goals, 4 assists and 34 penalty minutes. Connolly appeared in 147 games with Northern Michigan (Central Collegiate Hockey Association), recording 16 goals, 56 assists and 279 penalty minutes. A native of Flat Rock, Michigan, Connolly was originally selected by Ottawa in the fifth round, 158th overall, in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.

Cote, 21, appeared in six games last season with the St. John's Maple Leafs (AHL), without recording a point. In 51 games with Memphis (Central Hockey League), Cote recorded eight goals, six assists and 241 penalty minutes. A native of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Cote tallied 54 goals, 67 assists and 382 penalty minutes in 235 games with Prince Albert (Western Hockey League).
