Switchbacks Release New 10th Season Kit

April 19, 2024 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC News Release

As the tenth season gets underway, we will be unveiling exciting new specialty moments, events, and items throughout the year to keep the magic of our tenth season alive! The latest release? Our brand new 10th season celebration kit, which will act as our new white kit for the team.

Inspired by the rich history of this amazing mountain town, plus the clean lines and colors emblematic of the future of this team, we are so thrilled to finally share this new jersey with all of you.

Zooming in on the details of the jersey, the first thing to stand out is the metallic sheen of our crest and the shoulders of the jersey. A cheeky nod to the traditional tenth anniversary gift (tin), the silver color popularly used in futuristic scenes represents the long future and legacy we hope to build with this franchise and this city. The topographical design adds texture and dimension to the jersey, in a subtle homage to the mountainous range we live in - after all, our stadium proudly sits at the highest elevation for a sports venue in North America. Finally, peppered throughout the jersey are several numbers. The keen observer will know that those numbers: 719, 1871, 1942, 1954, 1961, 1983, 2015, and 6035 represent in turn: the COS area code, the year Colorado Springs was founded, the four years that Peterson Air Force Base and Fort Carson, the Air Force Academy, Cheyenne Mountain, and Schriever Air Force Base were founded, the year the Switchbacks were founded, and finally, the altitude at which our favorite soccer stadium resides.

We are so proud and happy to finally get to show off this amazing piece of Switchbacks and COS history, and we hope you all enjoy wearing it as much as we enjoyed making it.
