September 20, 2016 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC News Release
Colorado Springs, CO - Once again the Switchbacks will be bringing the USL Cup Playoffs to Colorado Springs this season on Friday September 30th. After a nail biting match against the Seattle Sounders 2 last Saturday, the Switchbacks have mathematically secured a place in the top four of the Western Conference.
As far as points are concered, the Switchbacks have officially tied Sacramento Republic FC with 49. However, with a record of 14-8-7 to Sacramento's 13-6-10, Colorado Springs is currently in the lead for the western conference regular season championship. Both teams are trailed closely by Rio Grand Valley with 48 points. LA Galaxy 2 sits in 4th place with 44 points and are safely out of reach of the Switchbacks.
The road to the championship is far from over for the Switchbacks. This week, the Switchbacks need to beat the Orange County Blues in California to secure the western conference regular season championship. Once all of the standings are secured in the conference this week, the Switchbacks will know who they will be taking on in the first round of playoffs. If the standings stay in their current position, the Switchbacks will be playing against 8th place San Antonio FC.
Switchbacks's next home playoff match will be September 30th vs TBD (7:00 p.m. | TICKETS (https://goo.gl/JHMyup) ).
