Colorado Springs, Colo. (Thursday, September 3, 2015) - The Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC have a chance to clinch a playoff berth this weekend with a win in Portland.

"The guys know they need three points in this game and we are going to get those three points," said Switchbacks FC Head Coach Steve Trittschuh.

The Switchbacks will be taking on the Timbers FC 2 in Portland on Saturday, September 5th at 4 p.m. The

Switchbacks will be playing without Rony Argueta (#8), who has to sit out the match due to accumulating five yellow cards this season.

Currently, the Switchbacks (12-9-3, 39 pts.) are in third place in the USL's Western Conference, and just four points off the leader, OKC Energy FC (12-5-7, 43 pts.)

Here's what it will take for the Switchbacks to clinch a playoff spot this weekend: the Switchbacks will need to beat the Timbers 2, and fellow USL Western Conference club Arizona United SC will need to either tie or lose their match against Real Monarchs SLC.

"We are still in a good position to get a playoff berth and our team knows what we have to do in this game against Portland," said Trittschuh.

Again, this weekend's match is Saturday, September 5th in Portland at 4 p.m. You can watch it live on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fx4zr5l8wPo or on Gazette.com.
