Black Gold Derby, Fireworks and After Party Sunday
September 3, 2015 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
FC Tulsa News Release
Tulsa Roughnecks FC close out the 2015 regular season the same way they opened it - by hosting state rivals Oklahoma City Energy FC at ONEOK Field. It will be the fourth meeting of the regular season between the two sides in what is now dubbed the Black Gold Derby by supporters.
A large Fireworks Spectacular is scheduled for after the match, courtesy of the Tulsa World, News On 6 and 101.5 El Patron. Also, youth soccer players can wear their team's jersey to the match to receive tickets for ½ price. The discount applies to all levels of tickets.

The Roughnecks need a win in what is their final regular season match to keep their USL playoff hopes alive. Tulsa is currently in seventh place in the Western Conference table, one position out of the sixth and final playoff spot. The Roughnecks have amassed 36 points this season with a 10-11-6 mark.
The Energy currently sit atop the West standings and have clinched the club's first-ever playoff appearance. OKC has a 12-6-7 record with 43 points, the third highest total in USL this season.
In the three other meetings during the regular season, the two sides have drawn twice and Oklahoma City has claimed one victory. On March 28, in the first-ever game for the Roughnecks, the two teams played to a 1-1 draw. The Energy claimed a 2-0 victory at home on June 13 before another 1-1 draw in Oklahoma City on July 18.
The two teams also met in the third round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup with the Energy posting a 1-0 win at ONEOK Field.
The match will be broadcast live on Tulsa's Sports Radio AM 1300 with Jeremie Poplin, David Saunders and Andy Lorei calling the action. The broadcast can be heard online at 1300TheBuzz.com. It will also be shown live on the Roughnecks FC YouTube channel.
AFTER PARTY
After the match fans are invited to Lefty's on Greenwood for an after party. The Roughnecks players and coaching staff will attend and be available for autographs and photos. Lefty's, located across the street from ONEOK Field on the corners of Archer and Greenwood Avenues, will be offering $2.50 Modelos and $4 Roughneck 83s.
TULSA AND OKLAHOMA CITY IN THEIR LAST 5
Tulsa Roughnecks FC Last 5 Games: L - L - D - W - D (5 points)
Oklahoma City Last 5 Games: L - W - W - W - W (12 points)
PLAYOFF HOPES - The Roughnecks will enter this weekend's slate with the mathematical chance of catching four different teams in the Western Conference standings. With its 36 points, Tulsa could still pass Sacramento (38 points) and draw even with Colorado Springs, Seattle Sounders 2 and Orange County (39 points each). The Roughnecks would hold a tie-breaker advantage over the final three teams as they have swept the season series with all three sides.
GRIMES ON INTERNATIONAL DUTY - The Roughnecks will be without central defender Mason Grimes for a second straight match. Grimes has joined the Guam National Team for a pair of World Cup qualifying matches. Guam played in Iran on Thursday and will host Oman on Saturday. Guam entered the Iran match with a perfect 2-0 record in 2nd round qualifying matches, but suffered a 6-0 defeat in Tehran. Grimes has started and played all 90 minutes in all three games.
DAVOREN FIT - Other than missing Grimes, the Roughnecks should be at full strength for the critical match. Defender Iarfhlaith Davoren, who missed last week's match in Sacramento with a leg injury, should be fit and available for head coach David Irving.
REVERSING FORTUNE - The Roughnecks have only a 5-6-2 record in home matches this season. However, Tulsa has lost only once in its last six matches at ONEOK Field. Oklahoma City has won only twice on the road this year.
STREAKING ENERGY - The Energy had a nine match unbeaten streak come to an end Wednesday night with a 2-0 defeat in Salt Lake City to the Real Monarchs.
HITTING THE NET - The Roughnecks currently have scored the third-most goals in USL this season, hitting the net 47 times. The total trails only Louisville City (52) and Pittsburgh (48). Since Tulsa is a first-year franchise, it appears that Sammy Ochoa will own the team's individual scoring record. Ochoa leads the Roughnecks with 9 goals this season. Cristian Mata is second on the club with 6 goals.
