Buffalo struck immediately with a leadoff home run from Chavez Young against RailRiders' starter Matt Krook to make it 1-0 in the first. Krook allowed four runs (three earned) over five innings with five strikeouts. Scranton/Wilkes-Barre responded in the home half of the frame via Miguel Andújar's 12th homer of the season. Buffalo then retook the lead during the next half-inning following a two-run big fly from Nick Podkul made it 4-2 Bisons.
