Greensboro Swarm News Release
(GREENSBORO, N.C.) - Devonte' Graham scored nine of his game-high 33 points for the Greensboro Swarm in overtime to upend the Westchester Knicks, 122-116, in a triple-overtime thriller at the Fieldhouse at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex on Thursday. On assignment from the Charlotte Hornets, Graham (33 points) and Dwayne Bacon (23 points) paced the Swarm (21-20) in front of the fourth sellout crowd of the season.
Graham was responsible for the Swarm's last three buckets of the game. With the Swarm trailing Westchester, 114-111, in the second overtime, Graham connected on a deep 3-pointer with 5.2 seconds left to extend into another two-minute period.
In triple overtime, Graham hit back-to-back long-range shots to give Greensboro a, 120-116, advantage. A pair of free throws from Joe Chealey in the final seconds sealed the victory for the Swarm.
Westchester was led by Jameel Warney's 29 points on 11-of-21 shooting. He also recorded nine rebounds, five assists and five blocks in 41 minutes. Kadeem Allen scored 26 points to go with 10 rebounds and five assists in a game-high 45 minutes. Paul Watson was another 20-plus point scorer, chipping 20 points and 10 rebounds in 44 minutes.
Along with his 23 points, Bacon had 10 rebounds for his third double-double with the Swarm. Graham has scored at least 30 points five times this season while on assignment. Chinanu Onuaku had his 25th double-double of the season after scoring 10 points and pulling down 12 rebounds.
Greensboro had six total players score in double figures - Chealey (11 points), Jaylen Barford (11 points) and Luke Petrasek (10 points) in addition to Graham, Bacon and Onuaku. The Knicks (45 percent) outshot the Swarm (43 percent) but Greensboro had the edge on three pointers, hitting 13-of-38 (34 percent) while Westchester was 8-for-29 (28 percent).
