Swarm Fall to Nets in Fifth Home Sellout of the Season

(GREENSBORO, N.C.) - The Greensboro Swarm, the NBA G League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets, narrowly fell to the Long Island Nets, 115-114, on Saturday at the Fieldhouse at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex. The Swarm slide to an even, 21-21, record this season while the Nets improve to 26-14.

Greensboro had three 20-plus point scorers, led by Dwayne Bacon's game-high 27 points. Joe Chealey added 22 points, three rebounds and two assists. Devonte Graham chipped in 21 points, seven rebounds and two steals.

Mitch Creek had a team-high 23 points off the bench to go with four rebounds and a steal. Greensboro native, Theo Pinson scored 21 points on 8-for-17 shooting along with five rebounds and three assists in 38 minutes. Alan Williams nearly had a double-double, finishing with nine points and 13 rebounds.

The Swarm (45 percent) outshot the Nets (38 percent), but Long Island had the advantage at the charity stripe. Long Island was 27-for-28 on its free throws while the Swarm went 19-of-22.

The Nets held a, 94-86, lead entering the fourth quarter. Greensboro was able to pull within one possession on six occasions but was unable to secure a lead. Chealey had eight points down the stretch but Long Island held on by making its free throws.

Other notable Greensboro performances included John Gillon (17 points, four assists), Jaylen Barford (12 points) and Chinanu Onuaku (12 rebounds). For Long Island, Kamari Murphy had 14 points while Jordan McLaughlin had 13.
